Tip number two. Don't be afraid to make your online presence known. Visit blogs that are relevant to the service you are offering. Leave interesting comments on each, along with a link to your site. Potential clients can then contact you, for further information. the key here is leave comments that have relevant content not just spam promoting your services.

Not only are you providing information, by making these comments, you are also creating back links for your own blog. These back links are instrumental in helping achieve you higher search engine ranking.

Twitter.com seems to be an upcoming way to market services. The downside is that your twitter messages are limited to only 140 characters.

Tip number three. Offer some type of discount. Potential clients will appreciate this gesture and be more willing to utilize your services. It can be a onetime 'deep discount' or a smaller discount over a specified period of time. Offering a new customer discount works as well, just don't be surprised if your current clients want to take you up on the discount too.

Along the same lines, you can also offer a discount for referrals. This will help to build your client base, simply by taking advantage of word-of-mouth advertising… which continues to be one of the most successful types of marketing today.

Word-of-mouth advertising has been around for decades. As the old saying goes, 'if it ain't broke… don't fix it'! Only these days when it happens on the Internet it's called viral marketing.
